Miro Illustration Projects Published by Louis Broder

The collaboration between Miro and Broder resulted in a number of stunning illustrated works which reflect Miro’s interpretation of books, poetry and other written works. This body of work, created over a period of 15 years is an important part of Miro’s oeuvre and underscores the importance of the collaboration of artists, writers, thinkers, and publishers.

One etching with aquatint printed in colors, unsigned. An additional 40 impressions of the etching were printed, signed in pencil and numbered from 1/40 to 40/40. Some of them were issued in Estampes originales, Album A, Louis Broder, Paris 1956.

One etching with aquatint printed in colors on Rives wove for the cover, unsigned; 22 etchings with aquatint printed in colors. One etching for the table of contents dated “Paris 2/5 – 30/5/1957 Miro” in the copperplate and in pencil 27/II/58. The 23 etchings are signed in pencil and numbered.
